Decker Shado Reviews Monster Island

The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island of The Asylum is ironically released around the time of Godzilla King of the Monsters. The movie is about Monster Island, where a monster may become known, and who will be kind to the island.


This movie is about a asylum. As such, it has a budget roughly equivalent to a large family meal. It makes careful use of it, focusing on only a few people and keeping the big stars on one single set so that all sequences can still be shot during lunch. But, let's not forget, this is a kaiju movie and that is (blog post) kind of how they go. So maybe The Asylum won’t do so terrible with it.
